Clariane submits its 2026 Communication on Progress (CoP) to the United Nations Global Compact, for the 7th consecutive year
A signatory of the United Nations Global Compact since 2019, Clariane has just submitted its 2026 Communication on Progress (CoP), covering the actions carried out during 2025.
A commitment renewed since 2019
The United Nations Global Compact brings together more than 25,000 companies worldwide that voluntarily commit to upholding ten universal principles relating to human rights, international labour standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption. Each year, signatories undertake to reaffirm their commitment and to publish information on the concrete progress achieved. Clariane’s 2026 CoP consists of the letter of commitment signed by Sophie Boissard, Chief Executive Officer of Clariane, the Group’s sustainability statement and vigilance plan and, since 2024, an in-depth 70-question survey, reflecting an ever-higher standard of rigour and transparency.
Clariane’s 2026 CoP can be consulted on the United Nations Global Compact website.
The Communication on Progress holds particular importance among the various non-financial reporting exercises, notably because of its international scope and the importance of reaffirming our commitment to human rights, especially at a time when certain hard-won principles, sometimes secured over centuries, are being called into question.
A mission-driven company, the foundation of our CSR commitment
Since June 2023, Clariane has adopted the status of mission-driven company. Its purpose Taking care of each person’s humanity in times of vulnerability, is enshrined in its articles of association, together with five social and environmental objectives: Consideration, Fairness, Sustainability, Proximity and Innovation. These commitments directly shape the Group’s 2024-2028 CSR strategy, in line with its material impacts, risks and opportunities.
A CSR strategy structured around five pillars
Clariane’s 2024-2028 CSR strategy translates these five objectives into concrete policies and actions deployed across its European network.
Acting with respect and consideration towards all stakeholders is reflected in particular in policies on ethics and quality of care, employee health and safety, diversity and inclusion, and remuneration. Clariane is committed to combating all forms of discrimination and to placing the dignity of the people it supports at the heart of its practices.
Implementing a sustainable and balanced business model means addressing issues of governance, cybersecurity, personal data management, employee training and development, and gender equality. The anti-corruption policy, transparency of offers and prices, and the responsible purchasing charter all contribute to this requirement of integrity at every level.
Adapting our behaviour to protect the living environment of our communities takes shape through a climate transition plan, an ambitious energy and environmental policy, and initiatives on water consumption and waste management. “As facilities welcoming vulnerable populations, our care homes and clinics have a role to play in the ecological transition of the territories in which they are rooted, notably through their efforts in climate adaptation and the decarbonisation of their operations”, states Olivier Robin.
Building dynamic and resilient local ecosystems reflects Clariane’s desire to contribute to the life of local areas beyond its primary mission of providing care close to local populations: local purchasing, partnerships with local stakeholders, philanthropic initiatives and relations with local communities are the concrete levers.
Improving care practices and quality of life through an ambitious medical research policy and innovation projects in care and health at European level (new offers and services, new tools and equipment).
Clariane’s contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals covers in particular SDGs 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and other related targets, reflecting the social, environmental and economic dimensions of its business model.
