Clariane commits to making a positive human, sustainable and solidarity-based impact through its purchases

At Clariane, the procurement policy fully embodies the Group’s commitments in terms of social utility, local presence and environmental responsibility. By developing sustainable partnerships with its suppliers, Clariane places people and the environment at the heart of its approach to directly benefit patients, residents and employees.
Procurement designed to support needs in the field
The procurement function is actively helping to implement the At your side corporate project and its strong ambition: building relationships of trust with partners capable of providing close support tailored to field professionals’ needs through an approach based on quality, service and utility.
This policy is based on four pillars:
- Close cooperation with suppliers in a spirit of co-construction
- Attention to the social utility and sustainability of products and services
- Selection based not only on economic criteria but also on environmental and societal impact
- Active listening to the specific needs of facilities and teams
Tangible commitments to social and environmental responsibility
Clariane encourages responsible practices throughout the value chain by incorporating demanding criteria into its procurement choices. These commitments are reflected through the group’s efforts to:
- Systematically include CSR criteria in supplier consultations
- Incorporate social and environmental progress objectives into contracts
- Support eco-design, waste reduction and circularity
- Work closely with its partners to reduce our carbon footprint
- Implement a CSR assessment matrix adapted to each purchase category
For example, Clariane has set itself an ambitious carbon emissions reduction pathway with the goal of halving its emissions in ten years (SBTi commitment). Suppliers have a key role to play in this process.
A procurement policy rooted in local areas
By focusing on short supply chains, local partners and stakeholders in the social and solidarity economy, Clariane strengthens its local presence.
In 2024, 78% of purchases were made domestically.
Here are some concrete examples:
- Procurement departments established locally in each country
- Priority given to suppliers committed to integration and inclusion
- 598 inclusive suppliers working alongside Clariane
- Calls for tender incorporating social and regional criteria
These choices strengthen our proximity, our agility and our ability to provide a targeted response to facilities’ needs.
Sustainable, progress-focused partnerships
Our procurement policy is based on bonds of trust that are built over time. Transparency and the desire to innovate together are at the heart of the relationships we forge with our partners.
These values are embodied in our Responsible Procurement Charter, which defines the reciprocal social, ethical and environmental commitments between the Group and its suppliers. It sets out its commitments to its suppliers: loyalty, fairness, respect for people and contribution to the public interest.
Our 2025 Suppliers’ Convention illustrates this perfectly: the event is an opportunity for dialogue and shared commitment to quality, service and sustainable progress.
Improving care through procurement
At Clariane, we see every procurement decision as a chance to make a positive impact. Because behind every product and every service, there is a promise: better support, better treatment, better care.
