Pride Month: at Clariane, inclusion is everyone’s business
On the occasion of Pride Month, Clariane reaffirms its commitment to the inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people across all its activities and in the six countries where the Group operates. As a purpose-driven company, Clariane believes that everyone should be able to be fully themselves at work, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or expression. Beyond being a principle, this is an essential condition for well-being, engagement and professional fulfilment.
A human, social and workplace issue
The figures are a reminder that there is still a long way to go. According to the 2026 LGBTQIA+ Barometer by L’Autre Cercle and IFOP, nearly one in three LGBTQIA+ employees in France reports having experienced at least one form of aggression in their professional environment.
Studies also show that employees who cannot be themselves at work devote a significant amount of energy to concealing part of their identity. This can have direct consequences on their well-being, mental health, engagement and ability to thrive professionally.
Being fully yourself at work is a driver of engagement, well-being, and therefore of the quality of care provided to patients and residents.
A special responsibility for a healthcare and care provider
Taking care of each person's humanity in moments of vulnerability is Clariane’s mission. This responsibility naturally extends to patients, residents and their loved ones, as well as to the employees who bring this mission to life every day.
Clariane's values — Trust, Responsibility and Initiative — serve as a shared code of conduct in this regard. They call for exemplary behaviour grounded in respect, attentiveness and equal treatment.
Equal treatment and inclusion are principles I have championed ardently for many years. As Clariane employees, we must be treated fairly, without discrimination, without any judgement other than that relating to the quality of our work and the quality of service provided to patients and residents.
A renewed European commitment
This year, Clariane renews for an additional three years its commitment through the LGBTQIA+ Commitment Charter of L’Autre Cercle, the French reference organisation for the inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people in the workplace.
A signatory of this charter since 2018, the Group continues its efforts to foster inclusive working environments across all its countries.
This momentum is supported by:
- awareness-raising and training initiatives on LGBTQIA+ inclusion;
- communication campaigns rolled out across several countries;
- the sharing of HR best practices at a European level;
- spaces for exchange and dialogue to drive progress in practices.
Among this year’s highlights is also the organisation of a European webinar in partnership with TetU Connect, bringing together French rugby player Jérémy Clamy-Edroux to discuss inclusion and respect for diversity in the workplace.
Commitments that come to life through individual journeys
Behind policies and frameworks, inclusion is measured above all through lived experiences.
In 2022, I had to leave my country because of discrimination linked to my sexual orientation. Today, at Clariane, I found more than a job: I found a family, humanity and respect. Thanks to the Group, I can once again practise the profession I love.
Because inclusion is a collective effort built day by day, Clariane will continue its awareness-raising, prevention and support initiatives so that everyone can thrive in a respectful, safe and caring environment.
Care begins with making everyone feel welcome, valued and respected.
