Clariane is committed to the mental health of those who care

At Clariane, taking care of people is what we do. Every day, we support vulnerable people in our long-term care nursing homes, clinics and shared homes. But taking care of people also means taking care of our teams, who deal with our patients’ and residents’ illnesses and dependency on a daily basis. To continue caring for others, they themselves need support, both physically and psychologically. We’re conscious of our responsibility, and we take care of their well-being, mental health and professional development. And we do this through daily attention – listening, providing support and creating an environment where everyone feels valued and, above all, useful.
Being a purpose-driven company means taking concrete steps for our teams — Nadège Plou, Clariane Group Chief Human Resources Officer.
Practical tools for providing social and psychological support
In France, a solidarity fund supports employees experiencing emergencies or situations of social vulnerability, such as domestic violence. More than 1,000 employees have already benefited from this system.
The social service offers listening, advice and guidance on social, family, financial, health and work-related issues. In 2024, employees made contact 2,737 times and support was provided on 685 occasions, doubling the previous year’s figure.
We also offer listening services in all our countries so everyone can be heard and supported on a daily basis.
Support systems
In all our countries, we provide our employees with:
- 24-hour helplines and psychological support services
- Training on preventing and managing stress, building resilience and increasing awareness of psychosocial risks
- Remote wellness workshops (relaxation, mindfulness, adapted physical activity, balanced diet and breathing techniques)
In Germany, the Humanoo app is available to all employees, providing advice on resilience and stress management.
In Belgium and the Netherlands, each facility has “trusted people” to listen to, advise and guide employees, contributing to a respectful and caring working climate.
In Belgium, the PETRA fund supports employees and families facing life’s tragedies (assisting with medical expenses and accidents and providing humanitarian support) and organises collective initiatives within facilities.
Taking care of our teams also means allowing them to grow

One in eight of our employees in Europe are taking training courses leading to qualifications. It’s a way for everyone to find their place and make a difference.
On World Mental Health Day, we want to reiterate that caring for those who care means listening to and supporting them.
This is also what Positive Care is all about: an approach that respects everyone’s abilities, desires and choices – residents and employees alike.
