Locality

Harness our geographic footprint and diverse network of facilities to improve access to care, build a resilient local ecosystem and contribute to economic momentum in the regions in which we operate.

Local and inclusive purchasing

Promote local and inclusive sourcing to contribute to economic development in the regions in which we operate while supporting the inclusion of the most vulnerable people in society.

The Group’s purchasing policy aims to contribute to the development of the regions in which we operate, promote the inclusion of people with disabilities or on the path to integration, and limit our impact on the environment.

In 2022, Clariane made almost 80% of its purchases from companies based in the country of the purchasing facility, exceeding its target of 70%. In France, 36% of fruit and vegetable purchases come from within a radius of less than 150 km (200 km in the Île-de-France region) from the fruit and vegetable warehouse in charge of supplying the site, and 15% of the products purchased are produced in the same administrative region as that in which the facility is located.

In addition to local purchasing, the Group has set a target of sourcing at least 20% of its purchases from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In 2022, 43% of purchases were made from SMEs at Group level.

Next steps

  • Increase the share of purchases made in the regions where our facilities are located and from suppliers employing workers with disabilities or on the path to integration.
