Opening of a geriatric day hospital at the Korian Côte Normande Clinic
Our Korian Côte Normande clinic located in Ifs (14), in Calvados (France), rehabilitation and recuperative care facilities (SRR), is going to open a 10 place day hospital. Specialising in the prevention of falls and rehabilitation of the elderly, the care offered will enable them to preserve or regain their autonomy.
This day hospital is supported by a dedicated multidisciplinary team of nine health professionals including a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist, an adapted physical activity teacher (APA), a dietician, a psychologist and a social worker.
Its 220 sq. m. technical platform includes equipment that helps to create situations, including a therapeutic kitchen and bathroom, to help you relearn everyday life skills. Outside, a therapeutic garden provides access to a walking path to promote functional rehabilitation and a vegetable garden to give patients the pleasure of an outdoor activity.
"This outpatient care completes the range of services offered by our health region to the elderly. Here, we put them in a situation and teach them the right gestures and postures to enable them to continue living at home, in complete safety," emphasises Corinne Guillet, director of the establishment.
